Moon Phases and Eclipses Project (Earth/Space Science)
A fun, creative project that asks students to create colorful booklets illustrating the phases of the moon and eclipses.

This experiment gives students an opportunity to practice the steps of the scientific method while completing an easy experiment to answer the question: How do desert plants live on very little water? This experiment is useful at the start of the school year as a way to review lab/experiment safety and procedures, or as an activating strategy or introduction to a unit on biomes, deserts, climate, plants, adaptations, etc.

Discovering Weathering/Erosion (Geology, Earth Science)
This lesson is a terrific activating experiment when beginning a unit on weathering, erosion, rocks/minerals, etc. At the end of the lesson, students should be able to answer the question What causes rocks to break down?

Hot, Hotter, Hottest! (Physical Science)
This experiment will help students see how different colors absorb and reflect light. Perfect for introducing units on the color spectrum, the sun, light absorption and reflection, etc.
