This is a worksheet designed to accompany a Math centre which is really simple to put together. All you need are a few post-its and some tape!
How to prepare the centre:
- Place a length of tape on the wall to make a number line (I like painter's tape because it is colourful and comes off easily). Place some post-its and a class set of this worksheet by the number line.
How to complete the activity (directions are provided on the worksheet):
- A small group of students will work collaboratively to place a set of numbers on the number line (numbers to 1000). They write each number on one post-it, then place it on an appropriate spot on the line. Then they use the sheet to record where they placed the numbers and pass it in so you can have a reference to view and evaluate later on.
This is an engaging group activity that promotes collaboration and numeracy. I hope you and your students enjoy it!
