This product is ideal for explicit small-group phonics reading instruction for building fluency in word blending skills. It is based upon the Orton-Gillingham technique for a blending board routine. The cards within this product are designed according to a color-coded theme for the beginning, middle, and end of words, which makes the product easy to assemble and use. Instructions for assembly are included, and once compiled, the product creates a ready-to-use notebook of SEVEN different blending boards, each of which is targets a specific phonics rule or spelling pattern.

Using this product, you can create blending boards that focus on the following phonics skills:

* Basic CVC words

* Words ending with -ck, -tch, and -dge

* Words ending with -ff, -ll, -ss, -zz (FIZZLES)

* Magic E words

* Words ending with -nk and -ng

* Words with digraphs: ch, sh, th, ph, wh

* R-controlled syllables

In addition to these, this product also includes cards that feature additional spelling patterns, such as consonant blends and clusters, which may be added to any of the other blending boards within the product as needed, depending on your classroom instruction and the needs of your students.

*** PLEASE NOTE: You will need a 3-ring binder in order to create and use this product as intended. This is a digital product, so a binder is NOT included within these resources.
