This is a fun activity that involves an informational text article that shows how eating insects can help save the world. The activity encourages the student to answer a critical thinking question:
How can eating insects save the world?
The questions has the students take what they have read and go further and infer how that information can impact the world in a positive way.
To help the students so this, we have included a graphic organizer that allows the pupils to make note of the key concepts that answer the question.
Then, the student is asked to synthesize the textual information with their prior knowledge to identify how eating insects can help save the world within a Brief Constructed Response (BCR).
The learning process is further enhanced by the student engaging in a self-assessment involving the steps necessary to effectively complete the activity.
As a convenience to the teacher, full keys are included as a tool for differentiating and driving further instruction.
