Designed for young children ages 3-5 with autism and/or intellectual delays, Eat It Up is an eight page book (ninewith cover) that comes in a printable .pdf file. Nothing is more reinforcing to my students than food and a book about fast food gets them engaged, talking and interacting. This would be a great book for a class to read before a field trip to a fast food restaurant.
Once printed, I suggest you laminate the individual pages for reading. I've also included matching pieces for vocabulary words I have chosen to highlight in the text. This book focuses on the fringe words: fried chicken, pizza, hot dog and fries, cheeseburger, corn dog, straw, fast food, eat. More specific instructions are included for creating your adapted book to last several school years.

Adapted books would also be good resources for any young learner, an early childhood special education classroom, simple literacy or math centers for preschool and prekindergarten classrooms and home schoolers who are teaching students with unique abilities. Because the principles of teaching vocabulary are very similar for both language delayed children with special needs and new English learners, my books are also an excellent resource for an ELL/ELD/EFL classroom for young children. Created by Miss Kim Designs for the unique learners in your life.
