The first thing a child does when introduced to food is a complete analysis. It takes time to even get it from the hand to the mouth until the pincer works. They squish it, move it around and sometimes even throw it, all in the effort to see if they might want to eat it. Then at an age that we have predetermined we say, “Don’t play with your food, Eat It!” But, when it comes times for playdough fun we say, “Don’t Eat it , play with it!” We have lots to teach and learn! Children should be free to rearrange their plates of finger foods, touch, dip and spread. It is about balancing investigation with teaching respect. The ultimate goal is to teach healthy life long eating habits.
Perhaps “Eat the Alphabet” and “Eat the Alphabet Recipe Book for Kids” can be tools to help children learn about eating healthy..Each page has a letter of the week with a name of a food. There are numerous ideas for eating that food and a number
of recipes. There is a space for your recipe cards and a space for recipes from you children. There are recipe cards that can be ran off on card stock. I included editable recipe cards and food pages as a separate file in this Zip product.
This is part of a zip file with separate *NO PREP* and *EDITABLE* products! To “unzip” the entire file right-click it, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
To unzip a single file or folder, double-click the zipped folder to open it. Then, drag or copy the item from the zipped folder to a new location.
