4th grade science standard, 4-LSI-2, says:
Use a model to describe that animals receive different types of information through their senses, process the information in their brain, and respond to that information in different ways.
In this activity, students will:
1. Read the passage about echolocation.
2. Use the graphic organizer to help organize information (optional - good for differentiation).
3. Create their very own comic strip (model) that shows how bats, dolphins, or whales might use echolocation (their senses).
I do not suggest using this as the only way to teach this standard. This is meant as a supplemental activity.
