Ecology unit about vegetation focusing on autumn leaf color changes for gifted and talented students. Learn in depth about the ecology of autumn leaf color change. Explore science, language and more while exercising your brain with deep-thought inducing questions and problems to solve that revolve around ecology and the changes in leaves that happens in the Fall. Aligned with NAGC gifted standards and specifically tuned for students in areas with little color change in the Fall, but can be used in high color change areas too!
Most assignments can be completed by any student with reasonable writing abilities. The last two lessons are developed with younger students in mind.

Time to complete lessons - variable, depending on the amount of class time is dedicated to each. These lessons take a minimum of one class period each to complete, quite possibly more.
Excellent for groups, especially mixed age groups, which will allow early readers and writers to participate fully in all lessons. In single level groups, some vocabulary work and/or teacher narration may be required.
