This assignment has students complete a variety of graphic organizers, such as Venn diagrams and Frayer Models, to learn ecology vocabulary. Terms include the following: abiotic vs. biotic, trophic level, types of consumers, autotroph vs. heterotroph, mutualism vs. commensalism (my students always confuse these!), limiting factors, carrying capacity and more! It also teaches students the mnemonic device: One Pony Comes Each Birthday Bash to remember the levels of organization in the environment (Organism, Population, Community, Ecosystem, Biome and Biosphere).
The assignment is a word document and can be edited as needed.
