This reading is designed to reduce the complexity of understanding economic systems (command, market, and mixed market) by reducing the process to a small set of examples in idealized versions of each system. When I use this reading, I play the Sesame Street Theme and use the students as the characters in vignettes. An alternative would be insert pictures of characters into the text so that students have a hook with which to access the information later. he thinking questions help the students process the information in a minimal amount of time.
