This lesson reviews 8 economic terms that are covered in the middle grades social studies standards. The lesson pairs a key term with a seemingly unrelated item and students must figure out a connections between the two items. This is a critical thinking review of key terms and forced students to think about the vocabulary and economic systems and trade barriers in a new way.
EX: dictatorship and phone; similarity could be unlimited power; dictatorships are like phones because one company (Apple) has complete control over the apps the iphone can run while dictators have complete control over a country's laws.
