This is a project for middle school and high school students. Students explore credible websites and research current events that interest them. Students will write summaries about what they have read and can share them with the class. This is a great way to start a dialogue about current events in local, state, federal, and global politics, economics, and social issues.
Students are challenged to write in expository and persuasive formats. This allows students to dig deeper into the material they are researching by forming opinions about the material.
Similar to my regular current events project, except, this one adds a focus for Economics classes. Students use their research to make connections with economic characteristics and principles of economics.
