Product Description

Includes two debate assignments that are designed for use in Ontario schools.

First debate is on a proposal to raise minimum wage to $15 per hour. Stakeholder groups include Fight for $15 and Fairness, Single parents, Australia, Ontario Restaurant Association and Small Business Association. Mark scheme is included.

Second debate is on a proposal to implement a sugar sweetened beverage tax (similar to the one imposed in the UK). Stakeholder groups include Food and Consumer Products of Canada, Ontario Restaurant Association, College of Dieticians and Ontario Ministry of Health. Mark scheme is included.

Students could do both debates or the class could be divided. Other stakeholder groups could also be added.
