This activity has students practice using the decision-making process for purchasing various items. There are many variations of the decision-making process. The one used here is as follows:
Step 1: Identify the problem.
Step 2: List the alternatives.
Step 3: Determine the pros and cons.
Step 4: Make the best decision.
Step 5: Evaluate your decision.
This process can be used when making economic decisions, personal decisions, business decisions, etc.
For this activity students will follow the steps to decide what pizza restaurant to dine at on a Friday night and what gift they would like their grandparents to purchase for them for a gift. For each activity, the steps are broken down and there is room for the students to provide their answer.
