I taught 11th grade economics for 6 years and developed this step-by-step explanation of demand for teachers to use in a classroom. It is really useful for general economics classes, as well as honors, AP, or college level economics. It would also be useful for homeschool students.
After the outline slide, several slides go over slope to explain how math is used in economics (for background / schema pursposes) and then transitions into how plotting a slope is how to plot a demand schedule on a demand curve.
Concepts, such as income effect, substitution effect, normal / inferior goods, necessities and luxury goods, elasticity / inelasticity, demand schedules & curves, law of demand, inverse relationship, change in quantity demanded, change in demand.
There are are several slides that help students to review information, in addition to practicing the learned information.
A LOT of pictures are used throughout the PowerPoint to help students have visuals about the information being taught. There are a few quotes cited throughout the powerpoint as well.
The outline hyperlinks with some pages. Additionally, those pages with a small star on the bottom right hyperlink to the outline for easier navigation throughout the PointPoint.
All pictures are cited in the notes section of the corresponding slide. Additionally, activities, how to explain material, and cited information is also located in the notes section of slides.
*** I am in the process of updating my economics information. Become a follower and know when I update more resources :)
*** UPDATED: Student worksheets for demand are now located on TpT, which can easily used with this powerpoint.
