Product Description
Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt's book, Freakonomics, provides a wonderful inspiration for a first week assignment in my Economics class. Economics is about choices, a decision-making process. Can your name increase your chances for success? Does the choice of your name or spelling variation matter? A Powerpoint presentation is included which provides examples from the chapter from Freakonomics to help foster a lively discussion on the power of names. From there, a brief hand-out is provided in which students have an opportunity to explore their own name. Last, a few questions are added to engage discussions on observations students have made and a chance for you to debrief whether names matter!
