Product Description
This is a "real-life" financial planning Internet activity that should take about 2-3 class periods to complete. It begins with students researching a career and average salary and then picking a home, car, insurance, etc. Using websites such as yahoo.finance.com, www. realtor.com, www.kbb.com, students are able to calculate mortgage and car payments. Students will also be using the state, federal and medicare/social security tax brackets to determine their gross and net pay. Students will be using all this information to determine whether they will have a surplus, deficit or balanced budget at the end. If they are in a deficit, students need to write about how they will change certain things in their life to live according to a budget.
