A hands-on PBL unit to teach economics. It covers many different concepts through a real life project. After learning vocabulary your students will go through a project that will teach them all about economics.
This is not a direct teaching product, but a project based learning product.
Why will these lessons help your students grow?
Engagement- Your students will LOVE to create their businesses and sell their products to a consumer.
Rigor- The students will really have to think through decisions that will relate to something that could happen in their real life.
Low Prep- All you have to do is print and let the kids do the rest!
2. Opportunity Costs
3. Producers and Consumers
5. Market Places
In the unit there is:
1. 10 Day Lesson Plan
2. Anchor Charts
3. Situation and Budget Worksheets
4. A large project where students go through the steps of creating a business and sell to classmates or parents
5. Economics Test
6. Letter to students and parents about the project
7. A rubric
What are others saying?!
Kimbery- This unit was nicely aligned to our standards and we were able to get to higher order thinking through some of the activities.
Kelly- This will go along with our unit in Social Studies, trying to find things to jazz up a boring unit. This is perfect
Julie- My kids loved this unit! It was so fun and engaging. Thanks

I wanted my students to have a project that they would remember forever. I also wanted them to learn all the economics concepts that they needed to learn! That is where the economics project was born. Now each year they are engaged and LOVE create a business while learning so many good concepts.
