The students will learn how the U.S. economy works by examining producers and consumers and the different avenues for buying products. Students will be exposed to using a personal budget and how to make wise economic choices. Cooperative group activities will expose them to the experience of being an entrepreneur by involving them in creating a business, using a budget for business purposes, and creating a logo for their business. They will also research facts about banks and the banks’ purpose in the economy using the “Jigsaw” discussion strategy. There will be opportunity for students to research a career to discover how careers contribute to the economy.
