a) collect and organize data, using observations, measurements, surveys, or experiments;
b) construct a line plot, a picture graph, or a bar graph to represent the data; and
c) read and interpret the data represented in line plots, bar graphs, and picture graphs and write a sentence analyzing the data.
This lesson focuses on Ecosystem Changes (environmental, man-made, etc.), Recovery of Ecosystems (after fire), Organisms Response to Change, Endangered, Extinct, Perishing, and Relocating. Terminology is included, as well as a SmartBoard activity (Survey of students favorite endangered animal – 5 to choose from. From the survey, students will complete the SmartBoard bar graph.) The activity is also included in a PDF file and modified so it can be printed and issued as desk or homework assignments. The activity can also be a lead-up into a writing assignment as well.
