I played this game as part of an introductory lesson during my ecology unit. The purpose of the game was to activate student prior knowledge about ecosystems. It only took about 10 minutes to play with 6th graders, but it got the kids out of their seats and excited for our new unit of study. After the game, kids were able to define ecosystem and predict many of the things we would be learning about during our upcoming studies! We often use games for review, but in this case it was a great way to activate prior knowledge.
Download and go! All you need to play this game with your class is the two fly swatters and a chalk or whiteboard!
