My students love learning about the different ecosystems. This year I used this pack during the entire introductory Ecosystems research process with my 4th graders.
Ecosystem Table of Contents

Pg. 5 & 6 – Postcard Template (half page)
Pg. 7 & 8 – My Ecosystem Mini Book (cover half sheets and
blank notes half sheets)
Pg. 9 & 10 – Ecosystem Cover and Writing Page (full page)
Pg. 11 – 25 Ecosystem Note Pages with clip art (black/white clip art for students to color – clip art is half page)
Pg. 26 – 37 Full clip art color pages
Pg. 38 – Giving Thanks/Credits
*I gave students a choice of the different land and water ecosystems available. When we went to the computer lab, they had their note paper to look up specific information of the ecosystem they wanted to learn about.
*After filling in the information and learning about their ecosystem, they completed the fun fact paper with 5 facts they wanted to share with their table groups (to practice oral speaking). They were able to color the clip art on the fun fact pages. This fun fact paper we glued onto the outside of a file folder as the cover.
*They also took their research notes and used the facts to write an informational paragraph about their ecosystem. This informational paragraph and the research notes were stapled into the inside of the file folder.
*The other "extras" in the pack we will use for different lessons throughout the rest of our Ecoystem unit. I love to give students options with using mini books and creating postcards of the different areas we learn about when we don't have time to do a complete essay. For example, I will use the postcards when we are working on predator/prey and creating food webs. With the full color clip art pages we will create food webs within the different ecosystems.
Black/White version and Color version of Ecosystem Clip Art from Ashley Hughes include:
*Arctic - 2 different styles
*Forest - 2 different styles
*Prairie - 2 different styles
