Are your students mixing up ecosystems vocabulary terms like population and community? Give them extra practice with these tricky terms through this engaging hands-on sorting activity! Use this as a pre-assessment, review activity, or even assessment at the end of your weather unit!

This resource includes a hands-on printable version as well as a digital version in Google Slides™. Use in your classroom or for distance learning!

This set covers five ecosystems vocabulary words: community, ecosystem, nonliving factor, organism, and population.

Printable version:

Students cut apart the sorting cards and place them in the correct columns in the chart to match terms to definitions and picture examples. They can glue them when finished. Alternatively, you can laminate the materials for long-term use in a center.

Digital version:

Students click and drag to move the sorting cards to the correct columns in the chart. Please note that you will need a Google account to use this paperless version.

An answer key is included.
