Get your kids out of the classroom and moving in the fresh air!
I use this playful and fun chart while teaching ecosystems and adaptations. It asks students to look for organisms outside and then classify them as producer, consumer, or decomposer. They also have to note where the organism gets its energy.
You can use this in your class or send it home as homework. Students can walk around a track, the playground, or their yard. It's a great resource to make connections between what is studied in class and what is happening outside.
