This activity covers concepts including: ecosystems, what living things need to survive, living vs. nonliving things (game), habitats, resources, renewable/nonrenewable resources (game), pollution (acid rain), how environment can affect animals (threatened, endangered extinct), it then goes into an activity to make a soda bottle terrarium. I am a speech pathologist and I use this activity as a push-in with my science teacher. I work in a special ed high school with students with severe cognitive delays. This activity works well with them. It can also work well with general educations elementary students.
