I also have students take notes while viewing the PPT. Afterwards students write a paragraph using their notes. The writing prompt I use is a simple one: ¿Qué son las Islas Galapagos?" Students get points for note taking and it's great writing practice in the target language. It helps them with word order. I also have students read aloud their paragraphs for extra speaking in Spanish practice.
