This graphic organizer is both simple and effective. Students find examples from The Raven and The Fall of the House of Usher that illustrate the elements of Poe's style: tone, diction, figurative language, etc.
Use this activity alone or as notes for writing assignments, discussions, or research. I used this in my AP English Language course to help students identify the basic elements of style. The Microsoft Word document is editable so you can change out the titles and author as you wish.
