Product Description
Monochromatic Edgar Degas Dancer collaboration posters are great for art teachers and classroom teachers alike! Use the video I've created and included in this resource to teach your students who Edgar Degas was, what monochromatic is and how to do this project. This project looks complicated (that is the wow factor in it) but it’s very simple – I’ve done everything possible to make it that way. Students will simply color, cut and assemble their pieces of the Edgar Degas poster.

PREVIEW VIDEO

There are so many options included in this resource. You will be able to choose the colors you want to use, the size of the posters and also the background.

Do I have to be an art teacher to do this project?
NO (but of course you can be). I’ve designed this lesson to be easy for classroom teachers AND art teachers!

What is monochromatic?
Monochromatic refers to all the tints, tones and shades of a single color. You'll choose what colors you want your students to use. If you have access to three "values" of one color then you'll use that. If not - no worries, it's really easy to create a value scale by using a variety of mediums like crayons, colored pencils and crayons. For example, to create a value scale of light, medium and dark blue you might use a color pencil for light blue, a crayon for medium blue and a marker for dark blue.

What is included?
• Degas Facts Handout
• Degas Video (to use with students)
• Instructions
• Poster pages for two poster sizes

Poster Sizes
Each piece fits onto regular 8.5” x 11” paper.
• The small poster has 3 pieces.
• The large poster has 10 pieces.

Backgrounds
There are instructions for created different backgrounds.
• White
• No background (cut out around the edges)
• Choose your own background color.

Degas Video
I’ve created a video you can show your students. This video introduces students to Edgar Degas. It also explains to them what “monochromatic” means. Then it quickly goes through the steps of this project. I recommend you let your students watch it all the way through once and then pause along the way as they create their posters

Handouts
I’ve created a one-page fact sheet that might be useful to you in introducing Degas to your students.
