This is a fun and engaging lesson for your students to learn the parts of plant and animal cells and their functions. Students will use an assortment of candy to model each of the organelles, and use their critical thinking skills to explain which candy best represents the cell organelle. Students will also be reviewing the functions of a cell, and accessing their prior knowledge. This activity is great for upper elementary students and middle school. Included in this activity is teacher instructions on how to set up the lab and materials, and lab sheets for both animal and plant cells, for a total of 5 pages.
