Back to school scavenger hunt: With this resource, students read various questions and then tour the classroom to answer them. Each time they answer a question, they become more familiar with you, things that are hanging on the wall, things on your desk, the class pet, and anything else that you want them to learn about.
This scavenger hunt can be used during open house, back to school night, or on the first day of school. I love using this scavenger hunt during back to school night! That way, parents/guardians can help their child with filling it out. Another reason I love using this during back to school night is because, sometimes, a student and their family will show up while I'm already getting to know another student. This scavenger hunt is the perfect thing for them to do while they wait! After back to school night is over, I love going home and looking through these forms. It helps me get to know my students even more. I learn how well they answer questions, what things stand out to them, what they like and don't like, what their handwriting looks like, how well they write, and if they like reading or not.
I have provided 5 different designs that you can choose from. Each design comes with a color version or a black and white version.
This product includes both a PDF with non-editable questions and a PowerPoint file with editable questions. For the PDF, I wrote generic questions that can be answered in almost any classroom. However, if you do not like any of the questions I have written, then just open up the editable document and type your own questions without losing the designs I have created. Please note the following: Because the questions are editable, the font will not look the same as the ones I used for the PDF. The editable questions were typed with Calibri (body), but you can change the font to any font that you already have installed on your computer.
