I'm at a school where parents WANT to know what color their child earned every single day. But I also had some parents forget what the colors meant and students were getting in trouble for coming home with blues (whoops!!!) So I created these little calendars for my parents AND students. At the beginning of the month, I let them color the little mini chart on the page and think about their goals for the month. Then, I let them take ownership every day and let them color in their own behavior charts at the end of the day. It saves me time, and it holds them acceptable. Now there are some days when a friend would get a warning. Rather than writing a long note home, I would simply enter a behavior code (usually if it a behavior persists, I make a call home). I also like to enter positive behavior codes for moving up on the chart. Hopefully this helps make daily communication a little easier!
