Boggle is a fun and engaging game! Used on a regular basis in a classroom, it can help strengthen reading and spelling skills. Classroom Boggle can be an activity that is timed or completed leisurely. It can be a competitive game or done for independent practice. Students may work cooperatively or individually. It can be completed in class or sent home as a family activity. You can use the traditional Boggle rules or modify them to suit your needs. In others words Boggle is completely flexible making it ideal for use as a classroom activity.
Contained in this packet are 15 editable Boggle boards (slides 4-17) that can be used throughout the school year. The boards are user friendly in that they contain no specific holiday clip art only color schemes and textures suitable for seasonal celebrations. In addition, you will find one sample completed board (slide 3) and one blank board (slide 18) that you can completely customize. Slide 19 features a double sheet of a blank grid on which students may copy the classroom board’s letters allowing them to do the activity in or out of the classroom.
To edit your BOGGLE boards, simply click on each letter on one of the slides. Change the letter, font, size, color as you choose. Display the board on an interactive whiteboard or large screen television and instruct your students to find as many hidden words as possible following the typical Boggle directions (found online) or your own directions and rules. ENJOY!
