If you're looking for a way to extend your student's decimal learning, check out the preview for this decimals dinner menu we have done - it's editable too!
The way it works...
We do guided math groups in our room and during our independent or hands-on activities we like to incorporate real-life situations or activities. I make a copy for each student and make sure the activity is something they can do independently, since I'll be with a guided math group! For this decimals dinner menu activity, students will need to choose their main course, a side dish, a vegetable and a dessert when planning their meal! They'll need to total up their cost, subtract it from $30 and then will need to write a paragraph about who is coming to their dinner party and draw what a table setting will look like!
I made this file editable so that you can enjoy it as is or can differentiate it for your student's needs and simply "run" with the template! We use this in a 4th grade classroom! Check out the preview!!
We also do a decimal of the day in our room during this unit, you can find that here!
