Kids love feed the animal type games. This is a great way to practice any of the 310 Dolch sight words (Dolch nouns included) and includes ready-made sight word carrots, storage labels, and recording sheets. The recording sheets come in color and black and white.
The activity works great being done independently (for example, read the sight words, record them, and feed them to the bunny) or with a partner or in a small group (call out a sight word, find it, read it, and feed it to the bunny).
If you're working on other learning objectives, it's easy to edit the carrots, storage labels, and recording sheets for anything you're working on. Number recognition? Letters? Addition? Subtraction? Specific vocabulary? It's all easily doable!
To prepare the activity, edit the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (optional), print, cut out the bunny, carrots, storage labels, and recording sheets, and tape or glue the bunny head to a box with a hole for the mouth. Lamination will help with durability because your kids will want to do this activity over and over.
