Here is a way to organize your classroom library that is student friendly and easy for teachers to set up and maintain. This system makes it easy for students to find just right books and teachers can monitor the reading levels of the books students are reading without them even knowing! All it takes is some books, colorful tubs, labels and stickers. These classroom labels or book bin labels are designed for use in a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom library. You could also use these files to make your own categories for other grades for your book bins.
These edible simple black and white labels are perfect for a library center and can be printed up at school on cardstock or on Avery labels. They will go with any room decor. What is great about this approach is you can decide which color coding labels you want to use and assign to which reading levels with these labels. The labels won't distract or interfere with the coding level labels.
I wrote a blog post on how to set up a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom library here:
A Simple Way To Organize A Classroom Library

Editable, then print, cutout and laminate to use with book rings.
With these Library Label files you can:
Use the Library Label categories I have created.
Download the font I used for free and add more library label categories to suit your classroom needs.
Change the fonts, their colors and size and make a whole new set of library labels with my categories.
Make a completely new set of library label categories with your font preferences.
These Library Label files are set up in PowerPoint so no need to install Avery software : )
