This is the Word template I created to use in my classroom. I have adapted it this year because I will be team teaching and will only be teaching Reading and Writing. So, I've edited my original template which covered all subject areas.
This product contains a template for the following:
Pages 2-3 -- Language Arts (Reading and Writing)
Pages 4-5 -- Math, Science, and Social Studies
Pages 6-7 -- ALL Subject Areas (for a self-contained classroom)
Two pages provides ample room for thorough lesson plans for a week. There are also areas available to make notes about the focus and items you may need to prep in advance.
Just a helpful hint -- this is a Word document and fully editable (you just have to click a few things to make changes to some fields). This gives you the freedom to change the tables, times, subject headings, etc., to best suit your class. Because of this, I strongly recommend that you be proficient in Word (or at least willing to learn and play around with it). I had a teacher give negative feedback because she didn't know how to use Word when she purchased my original template.
All you need to do is edit the header (click Insert and then Header where you can then "Edit" to do this).
As for the color shading, this too is an option in word that you can change. Just click the fields you want to change and right click to access "Borders and Shading" to change the color (or remove it) in order to alter it to your preferences. I have color coded my two classes because it makes it easier for me when working on my lesson plans.
I hope you find this helpful. I made this as easy to use as possible -- in each block, in bold, are the headers for whatever portion of the lesson you are delivering, and there is usually a box near it where you will enter the plans (that way you don't have to retype things each week -- they're already in the template). Just change my headers to be whatever you need them to be.
