In our primary classrooms making sure that notes and information reach home can be challenging. Special dates can be overlooked and information lost. A daily calendar can be a tool in providing upcoming dates and information to families. In addition, this can be used as a form of daily communication on how their child is doing each day. A daily calendar is a valuable tool in a primary class. I have used a daily calendar in my classroom for the past 21 years. They have taken various forms over the years; this is the one that I have settled on after much trial and error.
Included in this packet you will find three separate sets of calendars running from August to June. These calendars are 5 day calendars. I have not added weekends as I like the option of larger boxes to print in. The first set of calendars includes the behavior chart that we use in our classrooms along with holidays. The second set does not have the behavior chart but includes the holidays. The third set is blank with no holidays indicated, but you have the option to edit and add your own information. All three sets are editable.
Choose the set that works best for you, enter your text and print your calendar. If you do not have any text to add you will have to delete the text box that I have placed before printing. Please note that you will need Microsoft Power Point in order to edit your calendars. You may add information to each date, but the clip art and dates are embedded into the file. I have included a separate file with clickable links to all of the sellers whose clip art we gratefully used so you can visit their shops if you see something you like.
