Description

Looking for a fun and engaging way for students to interact with a book they are reading in class or independently? One Pagers are a great resource to use with students to help them personally and creatively respond to a book or novel, while also keeping them focused on specific elements like characters, and new vocabulary. However, One Pagers can be used for a variety of different purposes including book reports, text responses, note-taking, vocabulary work, science concepts, mind maps, and more! From elementary school-high school, One Pagers can be a great way to engage students, allow them to express their learning creatively and artistically, while also focusing them in on key ideas and concepts.

The One Pager book assignment is designed to be a creative response to a fiction or non-fiction book that students have read in class or independently. The assignment focuses on the title and author of the book, the names of 2 book characters, new vocabulary words, describing a favorite book scene, writing a favorite quote from the book, as well as creating visuals/drawings that could be added to the book. The assignment includes a student-friendly checklist and rubric that also list specific guidelines as far as using different colors, neatness, and coverage. However, if there are some tweaks that you'd like to make to this assignment, good news - it's editable! You can edit the assignment page, student planning pages, student checklist, and rubric to best meet the needs of your students and classroom! Therefore, the opportunities just got endless!
