This resource was inspired by a blog I came across on Pinterest (see link below). Students log their earnings at the end of each day on the ledger. At the end of the week (or however often you decide), students can have the opportunity to purchase a reward. They will write you a check and record the withdrawal on their ledger.
I use this system alongside Class Dojo. I keep track of their earnings throughout the day on Dojo and then once they record their points at the end of the day, I clear all the points. Students start the next day with a clean slate. You can still see their points after you clear them in the reports, in case you suspect a student of being dishonest when they record their points.
To set up the check books, I printed off 3 sheets of checks per student (one check per week for a 9 week quarter), cut them out, and stapled them together at the top with a piece of colored paper serving as the checkbook cover. Students get a new checkbook at the beginning of each quarter. Some of my students' favorite rewards are "Extra Computer Time," "Sit in the Teacher's Chair," and "Homework Pass."
If you have any questions or problems, please let me know! I hope you enjoy!
