These book tub labels for classroom libraries have a simple, no-fuss design that will go well in any classroom. The labels are provided in Spanish and English, making them perfect for any immersion or bilingual classroom with both Spanish and English classroom libraries.
I also have included two copies of each of the labels (except for the extra Science and Social Studies ones--see below for details) so that each bin can have them on multiple sides. I have found that having them on more than one side makes for easier and more flexible organization.
All of the main genres are included, such as historical fiction and mysteries, as well as some extras that I found useful in maintaining an organized and functional classroom library.
-Bin labels for individual Science and Social Studies units (editable, of course, so you can tailor them to your needs). By creating bins for the content areas and organizing my books in both languages accordingly, I have been able to integrate literacy more effectively in the content areas.
-A “Holidays” book tub label for those books that you pull out at Thanksgiving or Christmas and don’t seem to have a home.
-A “Books written by the class” label for a bin for class books.
-A “Book Return” label for the book return basket.
-A label for the “Book Hospital,” which is for books that need to be repaired or labeled. In my room, it’s a tub with tape, labels, and Sharpies, and certain students are in charge of taking care of the books that other students identify as needing some TLC.
All of the extras, of course, are provided in both languages. Not all may be necessary in both languages for your classroom, however. For example, in my Spanish immersion classroom, we just have one Book Return basket for all of the books, and I only use the Spanish labels.
Please add, subtract, and edit these to make them fit for your classroom! Enjoy!
