Are you looking for a resource that will help you get organized for a substitute? Here is a file that I created for my own classroom to help ME have everything at my fingertips ready for a substitute teacher! This pack has everything that you need to prepare for being out...even before you know you're going to be out! This file is full of editable pages so that you can leave behind detailed instructions when you're going to be out. I put together a substitute binder for the upcoming school year and it feels so good to be so organized!
This is an EDITABLE PowerPoint file. You will be able to type in all of your own information to make your binder customized for your classroom! This means, of course, that you must have access to PowerPoint. You do not have to be an advanced PowerPoint user in order to create your binder-you will just type and go! I included directions on how to save and print as well as tips on how to assemble your binder.
Here are the page templates that are included in this file:
1.) Welcome Letter template
2.) Schedule (Weekly and Daily page templates)
3.) Classroom Procedures (with a list of suggested procedures to include)
4.) Emergency Procedures (templates provided for fire drill, emergency lockdown, reverse evacuation, tornado, medical emergency, and a blank template with the Emergency Procedures header)
5.) Student Information: Allergy Info, IEP/504 Info, Class List, Helpful Students list, Parent Contact Information, Student Technology Log-Ins, Seating Chart)
6.) Helpful Personnel page template
7.) Notes for the Teacher: "While You Were Out" note form
8.) Time Fillers & Ideas for Indoor Recess (with page templates for Ideas for Early Finishers, Time Fillers, and Indoor Recess Ideas)
There are divider pages for the following sections: Schedule, Classroom Procedures, Emergency Procedures, Student Information, Lesson Plans, Helpful Personnel, Notes for the Teacher, and Time Fillers & Ideas for Indoor Recess (as well as a blank template in case you want to create a section with your own customized label). Because I understand that ink can be a precious commodity, I included BOTH color versions and black and white versions. (Even for my own binder, I chose to print the page dividers on neon cardstock to save ink!) I also provided a variety of binder covers, premade divider tabs, and labels for a "sub tub" bin in case you're like me and keep your emergency plans with your binder in a plastic tub.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Check out the preview file for a detailed picture of what's included. Thanks for stopping by my store!
