**HUGE UPDATE 9/9/17!!*** A PowerPoint version has been added IN ADDITION to the Editable PDF. The PowerPoint is an all-in-one document- that includes all the sections, your seating chart, AND blank pages to add your own sections. The PowerPoint version also allows you to rearrange, duplicate, and delete pages! This means it is also perfect to submit digitally as needed as well, since you can delete all the instructions as well as dividers and tabs. Instructions to create a digital sub binder from the document are also included in this version.
To use the PowerPoint version, you will need to download 2 fonts. Directions and links included! If you prefer the original editable PDF with fonts embedded, that is included as well. You have the option to choose! :)

These step-by-step instructions will help you get your sub binder going in no time!
Form Filling Instructions
These instructions will show you how to fill out the editable sections of the PDF. The instructions also tell you how to change the font and text size, if you so desire.
Pre-made divider pages are now included for the following sections: Important School Schedules, Class & School Information, Classroom & Behavior Management, Our Classroom Procedures, Anything Else You May Need, and Emergency Sub Plans. (Note: sub plans aren't included, this is just the divider page). In addition, several EDITABLE divider pages are included so you can create whatever divider pages you'd like!
Editable Binder Tabs
I have created tabs for the divider sections as well as tons of editable tabs, so you can organize as you please!
Binder spines are included for 1",1.5", and 2" binders. You can choose whether to use the version where you add your name (Your Name's Substitute Binder) or just a plain one that says "Substitute Binder".
Editable Seating Chart Instructions and Blank Seating Charts
Instructions for the Editable Seating Chart (in a separate PowerPoint) are included as well as blank pages for if you'd rather hand draw your seating chart (if you aren't tech savvy).
The back cover is also included with a text box to write an editable note on it.
Editable Table of Contents
This is a table of contents for your sub rather than you. I pre-typed everything that is included in the binder and the dividers as I organized it. You can tweak it if you decided to make any changes.
Note to Substitute
This note welcomes your sub to the class and gives a brief overview of the information the forms include. You can edit the contents in the blue box as you’d like or leave it as is. Just sign your name!
You can fill in the bell schedule so your sub knows which bells to listen for.
Type in the activity and time for each transition throughout the day.
If you have an early dismissal day or other schedule, you can fill out an alternate schedule for that.
Type in the dates and times for various specials- such as P.E., music, computers, library, etc.
School & Staff Info
Fill in some basic info about the school as well as staff your sub will want to know.
Number of students, student helpers, and where to find various items.
You can type the boys names on one side and the girls on the other, alphabetical order, or however you please. Two columns are included so you can fit all your students easily and organize as you would like. You could also leave one side blank for notes if you prefer. Do whatever works best for you and for your class!
Individual Student Contract Info & Pull Outs
Let your sub know about important information for individual students- such as those on behavior contracts or those who may be pulled out for resource or speech.
Student Health Info & Other Student Needs
Make sure your sub knows important information such as student allergies, medications, or special needs.
Class Rules & Behavior Management
Let your sub know the expectations and what they can do when a student is acting out.
Attention Prompts & Transition Procedures
Signals used to get students on track and procedures such as lining up, etc.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Procedures for the beginning and end of day.
Attendance and Bathroom Procedures
Procedures for getting attendance to the office as well as bathroom/hall pass procedures.
Lunch & Assembly Procedures
Lunch time, line up procedures, etc. as well as special procedures for assemblies.
Lockdown & Fire Procedures
Let the sub know the procedures for either a drill or for if an emergency happens while you are away.
Indoor Recess & Natural Disaster Procedures
Let the sub know the procedures for either a drill or for if an emergency happens while you are away. You can also note indoor recess procedures for severe weather conditions.
If you want your sub to differentiate any of the lessons for certain students, you can give directions here.
Lesson Adjustments (Optional)
If you are using lesson plans that are pre-written (including my Ready to Go Sub Plans), note any adjustments that you would like made to the lesson plans.
Any other notes that you would like to make for your sub.
How Did Your Day Go? End of Day Form
Leave this form for your sub to fill out at the end of the day so you know how it went

Horizontal and vertical versions are included, with 3 pre-made layouts in each. Choose the one closest to yours as a starting point, then drag and drop to make it your own! Color coding instructions also included.
EXTRA-EDITABLE Sub Binder Sections PDFs
Bonus PDFs are included with editable headers. The main document is mostly editable, but the headers are not. So if you'd like to add any sections or change the wordings on the headers, just open one of these to create new pages to add to your binder. There are editable schedule pages as well as the main binder page formats.
