Editing your own work can be a daunting task. This is especially true if you still have much to learn about finding your own mistakes when editing. I know as a a teacher, I constantly have to remind students to read and re-read their work before submitting it. For instances like these, I have created the Editing Checklist. I use the acronym C.U.P.S to have students look for and fix common and often overlooked errors when writing. This checklist can be used either by the author/originator of the written work, or by another student during peer edit work.
