Description
The “Have a Go!” strategy is a time saving solution that will hold students accountable for fixing their own spelling during the editing phase of the writing process. Over time, students will gain independence, and will rely on you less and less to make spelling corrections in their writing before it is time to publish. It is a tool that has worked successfully for many years in my own classroom and I am so happy to share it with you!
This 13 page download includes the directions for implementing the "Have a Go!" strategy in your classroom, along with 7 step by step strategy charts with visuals, and a "Have a Go!" editing chart. Students will find and circle spelling mistakes in their writing, and then use strategies to make three different attempts at the correct spelling of each misspelled word. Then they will insert the correctly spelled words into their writing piece.
Thank you for considering my "Have a Go!" Editing Strategy for Spelling and Writing set.
