This rubric is intended as criteria for students editing and workshopping work created by other students. It includes 4 categories -- Approach, Openness, Strategies, & Discussion -- that are essential in delivering honest and accurate feedback.
The rubric utilizes a simple symbol system to get input from both student and teacher. Students can set editing goals in advance and then follow up with a self-assessment, while teachers can add their own feedback as well -- all in one page.
In my classroom, this is used when students give each other feedback on second drafts. We also use it for workshop sessions, when a small group (3-4 students) examines another student's text and offers advice.
