I use this checklist when the students are passing in any writing pieces. I change out the targeted objectives to what our current writing focus is. When the students go through their writing prior to passing it in, they check off the box under the first S (student) column. When I go through their writing, I either check or X the boxes in the T (teacher) column. If there are any boxes marked with an X by me, the student is given their writing piece back so they can edit it one more time (and mark the final S column). This can easily be aligned to any of the CCSS, focusing the students on their revising techniques. It holds the students accountable for looking over their work before passing it in.
