Education in Rural Areas
Our middle school Global Gateway curriculum is designed to provide you and your students with essential attitudes, skills and knowledge for global citizenship, while exploring the complexity of current global issues. Through embedded social entrepreneurship principles, it promotes an understanding of the student as an active participant in the world, with an important role and crucial responsibilities.
The curriculum is aligned to the Common Core Standards, P21 Standards - 21st Century Skills, National Educational Technology Standards, and Career Technical Education Standards and organized in the following six main themes: Global Society, Global Geography, Global Environment, Global Education, Global Economy, Global Politics.
"Education in Rural Areas" is one of three in a Global Education unit. Students will address the many issues that different countries face in providing educational opportunities for their citizens. Students will explore higher education and education in rural areas of the world, relating these concepts to selected social entrepreneurship regions of study.
