Update August 28, 2014!!
During the five years I’ve spent as a Tech teacher, I developed my school’s entire K – 6 Technology program and all the lessons for that program. Each individual lesson has been implemented in the classroom, and I worked to refine each one with experience. The result of those efforts is offered here, by my store, Effective Tech.
Lessons are organized into five Curriculum Levels, with a specific progression of lessons designated for Levels 1 – 4. Level 5 lessons are more advanced, and are often an application of Tech skills for other learning activities. It is indicated which Level 5 lessons should be taken in a specific progression. The use of technology will be both an end in itself and will serve to supplement and enhance learning. I am dedicated to maintaining a strong academic foundation with my Technology curriculum. The work at all levels of the program will be fun, yet purposeful, and I don’t support computer game-playing as a substitute for a rich and rewarding program. My Effective Tech lessons have students producing a finished product using Technology. These products can demonstrate both the acquisition of specific tech skills, as well as understanding of other academic subject matter.
The Effective Tech Curriculum and Lesson Organization Chart is a quick-reference chart showing each lesson by level, and the documents associated with that offering.
Also available through TpT (for free) is the Curriculum Level Lesson Progression and Lesson Synopsis. This document delineates the Effective Tech lesson progressions for each curriculum level, and includes a synopsis of each individual lesson.
