The effortful engagement strategy is a competition-based behavior management strategy between the teacher and students used in instructional situations. The game encourages students to manage their own and peers’ behavior through a process of group reinforcement and mutual self-interest. The effortful engagement strategy also helps teachers avoid coercive teacher-student interactions prompted by disruptive behavior occurring during instruction by redirecting students in a non-confrontational way when they demonstrate such behavior.
The preview document (front and back page) is laminated to play the game. The product file contains a complete description of the Strategy.
