This is a fun, easy to set up math center that practices finding a total for a set of coins.
Teacher Set Up:
- You will need to label (#) a set of plastic eggs (I had 24 for the kids to choose from)
- Fill the eggs with a variety of coins totaling different amounts and don't forget to make yourself a quick answer key (i.e. Egg #3 is worth .89)
Activity: Students pick five Easter eggs, find the total amount of change in each egg, and record it on the answer sheet. They then use these totals to solve a variety of math problems (ordering numbers, comparing, adding/subtracting more money, etc).
